NEW ASSISTANT CURATOR ANNOUNCED

Project Arts Centre announces David Upton as new Assistant Curator

PROJECT ARTS CENTRE ANNOUNCES NEW ASSISTANT CURATOR

Project Arts Centre is delighted to announce the appointment of David Upton as our new Assistant Curator.

David follows in the footsteps of Kate Strain, Rachael Gilbourne, Saskia Vermeulen and, most recently, Ciara McKeon, who completes her internship with a performance event at Project after our opening on 29th August, and will continue to curate exhibitions of live performance as Unit 1.

David has been based in Cork, pursuing an individual and curatorial practice. He holds a First Class honours degree in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design and is a Managing Committee member of the Guesthouse residency space. His recent curatorial projects include 'neither spit nor diamonds' at Flat_Pack Gallery and Studios, Dublin; 'Noli Me Tangere' (Touch Me Not) at the CIT Wandersford Quay Gallery, Cork; 'You'd Think The Inner Dome of Heaven Had Fallen' at The Guesthouse, Cork and 'PsychIcon', a screening event as part of 'Glucksman Futures' at the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, UCC. Awards David has received include a Thomas Dammann Junior Memorial Trust Award and a Cork City Council Project Grant Award.

David joins the Visual Arts team at Project Arts Centre from a competitive field of candidates, and we are delighted to welcome him to the organisation, and to Dublin.
